Hidden Symmetry and Georgi ’ s “ Vector Limit ”

We study the generation of vector meson masses in the Hidden Local Symmetry (HLS) model of low energy QCD. After demoting the HLS to a hidden global symmetry (HGS), the ρ is explicitly shown to be massless for any value of the HS parameter a and the chiral partner of the pion appears as the Goldstone boson associated with the spontaneous breaking of the HGS, closely resembling the predictions of Georgi's vector limit.
